Drug Testing Procedures<br />
Testing for Drugs of Abuse<br />
All drug testing conducted under the Company Policy will be done by urinalysis. Hair testing is<br />
not authorized for drug testing. Testing will be conducted for the five (5) cl<strong>as</strong>ses of drugs<br />
currently known <strong>as</strong> the NIDA (SAMHSA) 5. These drug cl<strong>as</strong>ses are:<br />
a<br />
Marijuana<br />
Q Cocaine<br />
p Amphetamines (methamphetamine and amphetamine)<br />
• Opiates (codeine and morphine, including heroin)<br />
• Phencyclidine (PCP)<br />
Testing Program Administration<br />
<strong>Eaton</strong> <strong>Corporation</strong> h<strong>as</strong> a national agreement <strong>with</strong> Acxiom to serve <strong>as</strong> the Third Party<br />
Administrator and Medical Review Officer for <strong>Eaton</strong>'s substance abuse testing program. Each<br />
<strong>Eaton</strong> facility is responsible for identifying accessible drug and alcohol testing sites and for<br />
ensuring that the <strong>Eaton</strong> test collection and reporting procedures have been provided to the testing<br />
facility. Once the testing facility is identified, the <strong>Eaton</strong> facility must also determine that the site<br />
can perform the testing, chain of custody, and reporting protocol in accordance <strong>with</strong> <strong>Eaton</strong><br />
standards.<br />
Urine Specimen Collection Process<br />
Urine specimens are collected from applicants and employees by outside facilities that use<br />
collection site personnel who have been trained in specimen collection procedures outlined in<br />
DHHS and DOT regulations. Urine specimen collection is not allowed at <strong>Eaton</strong> facilities. A<br />
step-by-step summary ofthese procedures is provided in Appendix B.<br />
In certain circumstances, the applicant/employee may be required to provide a urine specimen<br />
while being observed by a same gender collector if the sample is suspected for re<strong>as</strong>ons including,<br />
but not limited to;<br />
• the collector believes that the specimen is adulterated<br />
P the temperature is out of range<br />
13 a previous specimen w<strong>as</strong> invalid<br />
Q a previous specimen w<strong>as</strong> extremely dilute<br />
Applicants and employees are expected to comply and cooperate <strong>with</strong> the collection procedures<br />
and the collector's instructions. If the applicant/employee is unable to produce an adequate urine<br />
specimen, the collector will offer the individual fluids to drink and up to three (3) hours to complete<br />
the collection process. If an applicant/employee leaves the collection site prior to the completion<br />
of the collection process or refuses to have a second specimen collected under direct<br />
observation, it will be deemed a refusal to test.<br />
Laboratory Analysis<br />
Drugs of AbuseTestinq: All urinalysis is performed at a federally certified drug-testing laboratory.<br />
