17. Scope Of Work<br />
A. Description<br />
Allegheny <strong>Power</strong> will contract <strong>with</strong> an engineering/consulting or energy services<br />
company to provide the following services under its Custom Program:<br />
• Assists AP <strong>with</strong> pre-screening industrial/commercial facilities for electrical<br />
energy savings type projects. The following systems shall be considered a<br />
"minimum" competency that each vendor should be able to address:<br />

Lighting Systems<br />
Compressed Air Systems<br />
Chiller Systems<br />
Refrigeration<br />
Premium Efficiency Motor Retrofits<br />
Variable Speed Drive Retrofits<br />
Energy Management Systems (Demand Control)<br />
Process Improvements<br />
Fan/Pump Systems<br />
Combined Heat/<strong>Power</strong> Systems (Co-Generation)<br />
Conduct a targeted energy audit and prepare a report that identifies the project<br />
scope, estimated energy savings and project costs.<br />
Conduct financial analysis that determines the retum on investment or any<br />
other pertinent type calculations for the project.<br />
Upon acceptance ofthe project by AP and the customer, the vendor may also be<br />
requested to provide the following services to the end user (contracted separately<br />
from this RFP):<br />
• Develop performance specifications for the design and implementation of<br />
selected energy efficiency projects.<br />
• Review vendor bids and <strong>as</strong>sist customers <strong>with</strong> the selection of qualified<br />
contractors and/or energy service providers.<br />
• Financing alternatives for the project.<br />
• Turnkey installation and/or project management ofthe project.<br />
