aotearoa (ICMP 18748) was isolated from Ligustrum lucidum in<br />

New Zealand, but it was not associated with a stem lesion and no<br />

C. aotearoa isolates were observed f<strong>or</strong>ming perithecia.<br />

Glomerella cingulata var. brevisp<strong>or</strong>a Wollenw., Z.<br />

Parasitenk. (Berlin) 14: 260. 1949.<br />

Notes: Described from fruit rots from Germany, this name has not<br />

been used since. No cultures are available and its relationship to<br />

and within the C. gloeosp<strong>or</strong>ioides <strong>complex</strong> is not known.<br />

Notes: Dickens & Cook (1989) proposed the name Glomerella<br />

cingulata “f. sp. camelliae” f<strong>or</strong> isolates m<strong>or</strong>phologically typical of<br />

C. gloeosp<strong>or</strong>ioides s. lat. that were highly pathogenic to leaves and<br />

shoots of <strong>or</strong>namental Camellia saluenensis hybrids, causing the<br />

disease Camellia twig blight. These auth<strong>or</strong>s rep<strong>or</strong>ted the fungus<br />

from plants imp<strong>or</strong>ted into the UK from New Zealand and noted that<br />

a similar disease had been rep<strong>or</strong>ted from plants grown in the UK,<br />
