MERLINS RALLIART & EVOLUTION-X TUNING GUIDEIf the actual load matches the target load (BTEL + BOOST LOAD OFFSET), then theECU continues to follow the BASE WGDC values as the engine accelerates. However,if the ECU sees a discrepancy between actual and target load, then it will apply acorrection to the WGDC. The degree of correction is defined by the BOOST ERRORCORRECTION table, as a load unit increment or decrement to the BASELINE WGDCtable. Thus the error correction serves to simply raise or lower the entire BASELINEWGDC curve. So, using the stock correction table shown above for example, if theload is 5 high, 5 is subtracted from the BASELINE WGDC table. Thus the correctionwill simply raise or lower the entire BASELINE WGDC table curve. So after the correction is applied, the ECU follows the raised or lowered curve. Itchecks to see if actual load is tracking the DESIRED BOOST ENGINE LOAD againafter the defined ERROR CORRECTION INTERVAL, and if necessary, raises or lowersthe curve again. This is why the correction table isn't a function of RPM.The graph shows the behaviour well. The blue arrows show when corrections aremade, and it is apparent that the ECU is simply raising/lowering the BASELINEWGDC curve.Figure 57:BOOST TUNING – BOOST ERROR CORRECTION - mrfredWhen using a 3-port BCS the BOOST ERROR CORRECTION values need to be lessaggressive than the stock values as the 3-port setup flows more air and respondsfaster to ECU stimulus than the stock solenoid. This applies to all the 3-port BCSvalves. In this case it is a good idea to reduce the positive/upward corrections, youwill get less boost overshoot that way. Setting the positive corrections to all zeroinitially will help you get your base WGDC maps close to the right values.REV: 0.K merlin@three.com.au Page 82 of 134
