MERLINS RALLIART & EVOLUTION-X <strong>TUNING</strong> <strong>GUIDE</strong>The table “TYPICAL INJECTOR SCALING AND LATENCY VALUES” has settings forabout twenty different common use Evo injectors, ranging in size from 680cc/minto 1200cc/min from well known reputable suppliers. If you want to save somesetup time you could do worse than choose from the documented injectors. Thescaling column has an additional note if the fuel is other than 95-98 RON octanegasoline. All the injectors listed are low impedance types, typically 2-4 ohms <strong>and</strong>will work with the Evo stock injector ballast resistor box.Note 1: The origin of the tuning information is also supplied so you may be able toconverse further with them for additional information <strong>and</strong> experiences. All entrieshave reported as yielding good tuned results on evolutionm.net.Note 2: 02 feedback is STFT <strong>and</strong> what the car is doing, at that very moment, tokeep everything happy. LTFT is what the car has learned over time, to keep the caras close to stoic as possible. So if LTFT is at +12 <strong>and</strong> 02 feedback/STFT is at +3,then the car is adding +15% at that very moment to try <strong>and</strong> maintain stoic.Note 3: LTFT range is ±12.5%. STFT range is ±25%. The trims are stored in ECU(RAM) memory <strong>and</strong> are reset every time you re-flash the Evo9 ECU.Note 4: When the injectors are up-rated, the CRANKING IPW <strong>and</strong> PRIMER IPWtables will usually require some adjustment, especially if using ethanol blend fuel.Note 5: The fuel trims can be reset to zero by dropping backup power to the ECU.Lift the fuse cover in the engine bay, <strong>and</strong> remove the 7.5 amp fuse second from theleft, for five second. Replace the fuse. All learned values in the ECU will be reset tofactory defaults. This includes the learned idle control trims.I have included in this section all the relevant START MODE tables <strong>and</strong> parameters,as they are directly affected by a change of injector type or fuel type like E85.REV: 0.K merlin@three.com.au Page 85 of 134
