PLAYERSthe player, her clothing or equipment at any Grand Slam,<strong>Tour</strong>nament, or <strong>WTA</strong> <strong>Tour</strong> Championships unless approved inadvance by the <strong>WTA</strong>.i. GeneralIn the event the utilization of any of the foregoing permitted commercialidentification would violate any governmental regulationwith respect to television, then the same shall be prohibited.j. Definition of Termsi. ManufacturerFor the purpose of this rule, the ‘manufacturer’ means themanufacturer of the clothing or equipment in question. For atrademarked tennis apparel collection that includes a player’sname, initials or other trademarked identifier that is owned bythe player and solely used for tennis clothing and accessories(“Player ID”), such Player ID may be used interchangeably withthe clothing manufacturer logo wherever manufacturer logosare permitted under this rule.ii.Size DeterminationIn addition, the size limitation of two (2) square inches (or 12.9sq. cm), three (3) square inches (19.4 sq. cm) or four (4)square inches (26 sq. cm) where applicable shall be ascertainedby determining the area of the actual patch or otheraddition to a player’s clothing without regard to the color of thesame. In determining the area, depending on the shape of thepatch or other addition, a circle, triangle or rectangle shall bedrawn around the same, and the size of the patch for the purposeof this rule shall be the area within the circumference ofthe circle or the perimeter of the triangle or rectangle as thecase may be. When a solid color patch is the same color asthe clothing, then in determining the area, the size of the actualpatch will be based on the size of the logo identification.iii.IdentificationFor the purposes of this sub-Section C.2, ‘identification’ shallmean any sort of identification associated with, or intended tobe associated with, a commercial sponsor, an apparel manufactureror any other person or entity, regardless of the trade-104
