PLAYERSe. Optional ActivitiesAll other <strong>WTA</strong> and <strong>Tour</strong>nament ACES requests made of playersshall be considered optional activities. Such activities include, butare not limited to:i. One-on-one print, television and radio media interviews andopen photo shoots above the minimum required undermandatory activities; andii.Publicity events and charity activities (i.e., hospital visits,celebrity photo opportunities).5. SchedulingPlayers have the right to decline any of these requests as longas they fulfill their required ACES time commitment via otherACES opportunities. For those players who have not fulfilledtheir ACES time commitment, they must agree to at least one(1) out of every three (3) of the optional activities which are proposedby the <strong>WTA</strong> or a <strong>Tour</strong>nament.Once a player has committed to an optional event, it becomesan “arranged activity” and falls under the same requirementsas mandatory attendance activities.When possible, players will be notified by letter or e-mail of allconfirmed requests surrounding a given <strong>Tour</strong>nament no laterthan two (2) weeks prior to the <strong>Tour</strong>nament. Please note thatdue to unknown play schedules, requests may continue toarise during the <strong>Tour</strong>nament.a. <strong>WTA</strong> Responsibilityi. All ACES activities must be organized through the <strong>WTA</strong>Communications department. If a <strong>Tour</strong>nament arranges activitiesdirectly with a player, they are not enforceable under theDiamond ACES Policy.ii.To maximize the effectiveness of the ACES program and tomake the best use of player time, the <strong>WTA</strong> shall:(a)Develop a list of “high impact” and “low impact” activities,in consultation with the <strong>Tour</strong>naments and players, and84
