PLAYERSIV.PLAYER RESPONSIBILITIES/ON-COURT RULES ANDPROCEDURESA. DIAMOND ACES POLICY1. OverviewAll Main Draw singles and doubles players must make themselvesavailable for media/sponsor/Tour-related activities at each Tournament.All activities shall be arranged by the WTA’s Communications andMarketing Departments.2. ACES Time CommitmentsSpecific Diamond ACES (“ACES”) player time commitments perTournament are as follows, it being understood that a player will havebeen deemed to have fulfilled her total ACES time commitment whenshe performs the first of either i) the total required time; or ii) the totalnumber of activities required, as specified below:Tournament & Player GroupsWTA Tour TournamentsSeeded players at PremierMandatory Tournaments and Top 8seeded players at all other WTATour TournamentsUnseeded playersGrand SlamsAll PlayersWTA Tour ChampionshipsAll PlayersACES CommitmentThree (3) hours orFour (4) activities*90 minutes orThree (3) activitiesThree (3) hours orFour (4) activitiesThree (3) hours orFour (4) activities* Third or fourth seeded players not receiving a bye in a Premier 700Tournament may perform one (1) activity the week prior to theTournament and the All Access Hour will be optional.3. PLAYERSa. 50% for use by, and to be decided upon, by each individualTournament, andb. 50% for use by, and to be decided upon, by the WTA; it beingunderstood that at the WTA Tour Championships and at PremierTournaments, the All-Access Hour shall count towards the WTA’sACES allotment.For any player that is required to perform an odd number of ACESactivities (e.g., three [3] activities), the WTA and Tournament shallmutually agree upon the best use of the remaining ACE after utilizingall other ACES per the formula described above.4. Mandatory and Optional ACES Activitiesa. Mandatory Attendance ActivitiesWhen a Communications Manager requests one (1) of the followingactivities, it shall be considered mandatory by the WTA for allWTA Tour Tournaments, the WTA Tour Championships and GrandSlams.i. All-Access Hour(a)WTA Tour ChampionshipsAll players will be required to conduct an “All-AccessHour” media roundtable.(b)Premier TournamentsExcept for third or fourth seeded players not receiving a byein a Premier 700 Tournament, seeded players will berequired to conduct an “All-Access Hour” media roundtable;provided, however, such players will not be requiredto conduct an All-Access Hour on a day in which they arescheduled to play a match.ii.Media Roundtables/Press Conferences/TeleconferencesAll players shall be required, if requested, to participate inmedia roundtables and media teleconferences; however, withthe player’s approval, the WTA may substitute a press conferencefor the media roundtable.
