MUNICIPALITY OF MONROEVILLE2012 BUDGETDepartment Number:1200 Department Name: Municipal ManagerDepartment Description:The Municipal Manager is the Chief Administrative Officer of Monroeville and is responsible tothe Mayor and Council for the administration of all municipal affairs per the Monroeville HomeRule Charter. The Manager's immediate staff aids in the overall operafion of the Municipalityand its administrative functions.The Manager's department provides for the funding of strategic planning and operationalleadership for the elected officials and department heads to better communicate and align theneeds and interests of the residents - speaking through elected officials - and the departmentservices provided.The depaliment also provides funding for Emergency Management activities and anEmployee Safety Committee. Disaster training programs are conducted on an as-neededbasis. The Employee Safety Committee meets on a monthly basis to review whether theSafety Manual is being implemented for improved worker safety.Department Standards:• Ongoing responsibilities designated to the Municipal Manager's office include: annualbudget preparation, general fiscal management, administration of all departments, andprovision of regular status reports to Council on department projects, resident concernsand complaints, and personnel problems or needs.• The Municipal Manager is also responsible for the hiring and firing of all municipalemployees. Job descriptions are used to determine job requirements.• Information is prOVided to the public through various means including Cable TV on aregular basis.• All resident inquiries and concerns are responded to in a timely manner through theMunicipal Manager's Office.• The Municipal Manager leads and/or administers significant projects and programs asassigned by Council.- 64 -
