The directly age sex standardised alcohol related harm hospital admission rate (per100,000 people) <strong>for</strong> <strong>Dudley</strong> residents in 2008/09 was 1281.5, and was significantlyhigher <strong>for</strong> men than women (1636.8, 948.7 <strong>for</strong> men and women respectively).Figure 7 shows the directly age sex standardised alcohol related harm hospitaladmission rate (per 100,000 people) <strong>for</strong> <strong>Dudley</strong> residents in 2008/09 by IMD 2007quintiles. In terms of alcohol related harm hospital admissions there is a strongpositive relationship with increasing deprivation <strong>for</strong> both men and women. Thisrelationship was not observed <strong>for</strong> the prevalence of heavy and binge drinking.110
