a) The ad hoc committee will be comprised of one full time faculty memberselected by the student and one selected by the faculty member. A third facultymember selected by the VPAA (or someone he/she designates) will serve as theChair of the committee.b) The Chair of the ad hoc committee will offer the faculty member and the studentadditional opportunity to submit written documentation supporting theircontentions. After being named, the ad hoc committee members will convene tohear the appeal within thirty (30) days.c) After reviewing all written documentation and hearing any verbal testimony, thecommittee will render its finding in writing to the VPAA who will notify theRegistrar of any necessary grade changes. The decision of the ad hoc committeeis final.DEAN’S LISTStudents who complete at least twelve (12) semester hours credit with a grade point average of3.50 or higher will be placed on the Dean’s List for that semester. This academic honor isrecorded on the student’s transcript. A grade of “D”, “F”, or “U” automatically eliminates astudent from this recognition, regardless of other grades earned during that semester. Gradesfrom courses using a “P/F” grading system are not included in calculations for the Dean’s List.REPEATED COURSESCourses may be repeated in an attempt to improve a grade in any course taken at <strong>Victory</strong><strong>University</strong>. A student may repeat a course up to four (4) times in order to attempt to change acourse grade. The grade earned on the last attempt will stand as the final grade unless the lastattempt results in a withdrawal from the course. In that case, the grade recorded for the coursewill be the grade earned for the most recent course completion. If a student earns a failinggrade in a repeated course, he/she will lose any previously earned hours in that course.Repeated courses must be taken at <strong>Victory</strong> only. Further, these courses may not be attemptedin either directed study nor independent study formats. Grades earned in all attempts for agiven course will remain on the student’s transcript but will not be included in computing thegrade point average. A student may not repeat any course off‐campus in which afailing grade has been received at <strong>Victory</strong> <strong>University</strong>. (Approval for exceptions inextraordinary circumstances is at the discretion of the VPAA.)STUDENT RESPONSIBILITYAlthough academic advisors are available to assist students with matters related to theirprogram of study, it is the individual student’s responsibility for meeting all statedrequirements for the degree and the policies associated with the degree. Thus, students areresponsible for knowing the content of the <strong>Academic</strong> <strong>Catalog</strong> as it relates to their program of103
