ADVISING AND REGISTRATIONCOURSE REGISTRATIONStudents may register for courses during the Registration period. Registration is continuousthrough the end of the add/drop period and then re-opens again in the early fall or early springdepending on the start date for each term.Students must consult with their advisor in order to register for classes.ACADEMIC ADVISORSAdvisors are provided to aid students in course selection. The advisor assists students indetermining their class schedule each semester. Students must obtain their advisor’s approvalwhen: registering for a course, adding/dropping courses to their existing enrollment,petitioning for transient credit, requesting a course substitution, making changes to theirprogram (major, minor, catalog, etc.), requesting an Independent Study, and requesting awithdraw from the course/school. Assistance from advisors, however, does not relieve astudent of the necessity of studying both the Academic Catalog and the Student Handbook, andfulfilling all requirements therein for his/her particular degree program.CHANGE OF MAJOR/MINOR/CATALOGStudents may submit a Change of Major/Minor/Catalog request at any time during theirmatriculation. The major/minor requested must be an active major/minor within the currentcatalog year. A change of catalog year must be for the present catalog year; a student cannotrequest a catalog year from the past.
