Ourmission is to shape the souls of our students by guiding their pursuit of wisdom through thestudy of literature as it discloses its truths about literary art, human experience and Christianfaith.Victory University faculty members of the Department of Arts and Sciences strive to teachstudents some things aside from how to fit into mainstream suburban America. We arededicated to a penitential love of God and humbly work to integrate faith and learning, thoughwe admit our failures and seek forgiveness from God, one another, students, and parents. Weoffer our teaching as a sacrifice of love to the Holy Trinity, while disciplining ourselves to readand write more so that we can become even better teachers. We eschew educational fads,aiming instead to elevate our students’ minds and souls by having them read and write aboutdifficult texts.As a result of study in this program students will: Develop skills appropriate to the task of reading imaginative writing. Become familiar with all of the major genres of literature. Develop a sense of literary history. Develop rhetorical skills, especially writing effectively. Gain preparation for work in graduate programs, teaching, professional programs (suchas law), or other careers.
