COLLEGE LEVEL EXAMINATION PROGRAM (CLEP) AND DSST<strong>Victory</strong> <strong>University</strong> will accept CLEP/DSST credits with the following stipulations:1. Credit will be given to any student making the minimum score as determined bythe ACE guide.2. Credit will be given with a grade of P (pass), but no quality points will beawarded.3. Credit will be allowed under CLEP/DSST only when duly authorizedrepresentatives administer the test.4. <strong>Victory</strong> <strong>University</strong> will grant credit for CLEP/DSST scores once the originalCLEP/DSST transcript is received. FOR STUDENTS PURSUING THIS TYPE OFCREDIT IN THE SEMESTER OF GRADUATION, THE OFFICIAL SCORE REPORT(TRANSCRIPT) IS DUE NO LATER THAN TWO-WEEKS PRIOR TO THE DATE OFGRADUATION.A maximum aggregate of seventy-five (75) semester hours of Continuing EducationUnits (CEUs), Credit for Prior Learning (CPL), correspondence, testing (such as CLEP,DSST, CEEB, AP, etc.), and /or non-accredited college credit may be applied towards adegree at <strong>Victory</strong> <strong>University</strong>.NOTE: Students who are planning to enter any of the medical or allied fields should beaware that most schools will not accept CLEP examinations. Therefore, the studentshould take regular courses as listed in the <strong>Academic</strong> <strong>Catalog</strong> and not take the CLEPexaminations.Prior Learning Assessment (PLA)Prior learning assessment (PLA) is the process of earning college credit for learning thatwas acquired from non-classroom experiences like work, professional training, militarycareers, volunteering, and personal life. VU-1001 CAEL Portfolio will help studentsidentify areas of learning they may want to have evaluated for college-level equivalency.The course will also guide students through the preparation and compilation of allcomponents for the evaluation of a portfolio or prior learning throughLearningCounts.org. Students will learn critical reflection skill to rethink the value oftheir learning and its implications for future learning. Adult learning theory, models, andconcepts will be discussed and applied to case studies. VU-1001 CAEL Portfolio isfacilitated by an instructor who provides guidance for the student in preparing his or herportfolio-based request for credit.
