Deterministic models and 3D GIS can be of great advantage at this stage. The
selection of scale of analysis is usually determined by the intended application of the
mapping results; however, the choice of analysis technique remains open. This
choice is dependent upon the type of problem, availability of data, availability of
financial resources, time available for investigation and finally the professional
experience of the experts involved in the survey. For more details, please refer to

SCOPE FOR DEVELOPING A GIS DATABASE FOR DISASTER
MANAGEMENT
The draft scope of work of the project includes (but not limited to) the following:
o Data model definition for all the three tiers of the database. The
National Map Policy guidelines and National Topographical Data Base
(NTDB) must be referred to.
o Source procurement guidelines formulation
o Firming up and detailing the database creation methodology, solution
architecture, the technology and platform, compliance criteria, resource
model and products
o Documentation and approval of the project blue print
o Project estimation, structuring, planning and scheduling
o Detail project report finalization and approval
o 1:10,000 scale mapping and database creation: secondary data
collection, mapping, attribution, database structuring
