NEW
KABBALAH COURSE
The local branch of the Jewish Learning Institute will offer a course on
“The Kabbalah of Character”. This new course on character
development is based on the spiritual teachings of the Kabbalah. It’s a
course that will change the way we change.
Bookstores are inundated with self-help and motivational books.
Yet a new course soon to be unveiled in cities across the globe, including
Parkland, stands apart, offering a new way to approach self-improvement.
“’The Kabbalah of Character’ is no quick fix. You won’t learn how to
become a perfect person in ten easy lessons,” explains Rabbi Mendy
Gutnick. “We won’t wave a magic wand and make your troubles
disappear.”
However, explains Rabbi Gutnick, “this course will help you assess
where you are today, and will provide long-term strategies for making
changes that are lasting and real.”
The course helps students identify their particular dispositions and
strengths. It then helps them to find ways to make the most of the gifts
they have been given. Drawing on the organizational structure of the
Kabbalah, this course examines the nature of the human soul created in
the image of G-d. It includes wisdom to amaze and stories to inspire, as
well as journal exercises and practical tools to help students apply the
lessons to their own lives.
“The course invites you to choose from among a wealth of reflective
approaches to chart your own path to personal growth,” says local
JLI coordinator Alan Miller. “It provides tools that will help you develop
yourself and find new meaning in each day.”
The course will be offered at Chabad of Parkland for eight Wednesdays
starting January 24th 2007. The course costs $75, which includes a
beautiful student textbook. “We are so sure that you will enjoy it,” says
Rabbi Gutnick, “that we invite anyone interested to attend the first lesson
free, with no obligation.”
What can you gain by taking this course? A chance to discover who you
really are. A chance to experience a tried, true method for selfimprovement
grounded in traditional spiritual teachings. And a chance to
learn the secrets that will help you unlock your inner potential.
