Wednesday, January 3rd 7:00 pm Cholesterol Down: Ten simple steps to
lower your cholesterol in four weeks-without prescription drugs. Join Dr.
Brill, an expert on nutrition, health, and fitness, for an informal discussion of
her new book. Books will be available for purchase and signing.
Thursday, January 4th 1:00pm OOOpsy the Clown Children of all ages
come see Ooopsy the Clown performs at the Parkland Library. She will tell
the story Charlotte’s Web through fun and magic. Registration required.

Monday, January 8th 10:30am Fun with Yoga Ages 4-8 Yoga is great way
for children to relax and have fun. Ally Peer Ben-Ezzer teaches traditional
yoga in playful, simple ways using storytelling and music. Registration is
required; card holders only.
Friday, January 12th 3:30pm Honoring Martin Luther King-Film and
Discussion. View the film biography called Martin Luther King, Jr: the
Man and the Dream, followed by a discussion of the impact he has had on
us to this day.
Saturday, January 13th Storytime Registration Registration will begin at
9:00 am in person.We will hand out numbers so that you don’t have to stand
in line. Also, we will allow about five people at a time to register so that there
is not as much confusion or rush. Phone registrations will be taken at
10:00am. However, we recommend the earlier registration time. You must
be a Parkland Library cardholder to register. Please bring your library card

Saturday, January 13th 1:00pm Film Viewing and Discussion- An
Inconvenient Truth A documentary on Al Gore’s campaign to make the
issue of global warming a recognized problem worldwide. Popcorn and
refreshments will be served. REGISTRATION REQUIRED.
Friday, January 19th 11:00am Mommy and Me Yoga Yoga is great way for
children and parents to relax and have fun together. Ally Peer Ben-Ezzer
teaches traditional yoga in playful, simple ways using storytelling and music.
Classes are for ages 2 to 4 with parent or caregiver. Registration is required.
Saturday, January 20th 10:30am or 1:30pm Community Input to Library
Strategic Plan. To be a first class library, we need your comments and
suggestions for future activities. Please give us an hour of your time to help

Stampin’ Up! for teens and adults Discover your creativity with Stampin'
Up! Learn how to use stamps to create unique, custom designs for cards and
other craft projects. Registration is required.
Wednesday, January 24th 3:30pm American Dragon Martial Arts ages 8
and up. Martial Arts provide a positive and safe environment for learning
self defense. Get a sampler of the different types of martial arts and have fun
too. Registration required.
Saturday, January 27th10:00 am Book Discussion-Water for Elephant
Synopsis: With its spotlight on elephants, Gruen's romantic page-turner
hinges on the human-animal bonds The novel, told in flashback by nonagenarian
Jacob Jankowski, recounts the wild and wonderful period he spent
with the Benzini Brothers Most Spectacular Show on Earth, a traveling
circus he joined during the Great Depression. Refreshments will be served.
