Youngsters and adults alike will marvel at <strong>the</strong> Pistner Collection “Masters of Miniature”.These<br />

tiny architectural models rival <strong>the</strong> most exquisite dollhouses imaginable. Each perfectly detailed<br />

piece of furniture, crystal chandelier, petit point carpet, is a masterpiece.<br />

The museum also houses a superb collection of Dale Chihuly glass sculptures including a<br />

brilliantly colored ceiling. Be sure not to miss anything in this handsome and uniquely designed<br />

building.<br />

The Naples Museum of Art is located at 5833 Pelican Bay Boulevard, and is open Tuesday -<br />

Saturday, 10 a.m. - 4 p.m. and Sunday from noon - 4 p.m. Admission is $8 for adults and $4 for<br />

Adjacent to <strong>the</strong> museum is <strong>the</strong> Philharmonic Center, which is<br />

Southwest Florida’s premier performing arts hall. Here you can<br />

select from over 400 events a year that include world-class <strong>the</strong>ater,<br />

dance, and classical and popular music. This vast Center is a<br />

visual delight as well with its two sculpture gardens and four<br />

museum-quality art galleries. The center was founded by Myra<br />

Janco Daniels, a former Chicago advertising executive and educator<br />

who described <strong>the</strong> complex as, “a cultural one not only for<br />

all of <strong>the</strong> performing arts, but also <strong>the</strong> visual arts such as painting,<br />

sculpture and photography.”<br />

Highlights this season include: <strong>the</strong> Broadway shows Spamalot,<br />

Hairspray and Sweet Charity, and performances by Woody<br />

Allen’s <strong>New</strong> Orleans Jazz Band, Liza Minnelli, Patti LaBelle,<br />

Denyce Graves, Tom Jones and <strong>the</strong> Chicago Symphony<br />

Orchestra. There are also a multitude of programs planned to<br />

enrich children’s appreciation of <strong>the</strong> arts. Saturdays from 9:30<br />

a.m. - 11:30 a.m. are a series of Magic Carpet Concerts primarily<br />

for children ages 3 - 9, but fun for everyone - (tickets are<br />

$10.adults, $5. children) March 17th is <strong>the</strong> first presentation<br />

which will be Brass, to be followed monthly by Strings,<br />

Woodwinds and Percussions. Instruments are demonstrated, followed<br />

by a question and answer period.<br />
