Oncethis residual air goes out, more fresh air comes in, which isresponsible for a healthy lung. When you do sujud, due to thedecrease of the gravitational force, there is extra venous returnfrom the abdominal organs. <strong>The</strong>refore, the extra venous return(volume of blood returning to the right atrium of the heart) isincreased, which makes the heart healthy. This also supplies freshblood to all body tissues. In the sujud, the weight is concentrated onthe knees, and your legs are flexed. This also causes relaxation inlower half of the body.In sujud, the knees are touching the floor, including the hands andforehead. This posture is helpful in diseases of the cervical spine,because this helps the inter-vertebral joints, which allows the spineto move more flexibly. <strong>The</strong> posture of the sujud is also helpful incardiac diseases. When a person rises from the sujud from thesquatting position, the blood which has flowed into the upper partof the body comes back to normalcy, and the body is relaxed. <strong>The</strong>reis extra blood flowing in the muscles and nerves of the thigh andthe back, so the back muscles of the back are relaxed. It is good forconstipation and indigestion. When a person gets up from thesquatting position to the standing position, his weight isconcentrated on the ball of the feet, which improves the strength ofthe back muscles, thigh muscles, knee muscles and leg muscles.<strong>The</strong> ruku and sujud (bowing down and prostrating on the floor) aregreat postures against femoral and esophageal hernia. <strong>The</strong>sepositions in the prayer are also beneficial for a person sufferingfrom hemorrhoids (inflammation of veins in the rectum and anus)which in layman's terminology is called piles. <strong>The</strong>se positions ofSalah are also helpful in prolapse of the uterus.
