He said, "The one who fails hisparents or one of them when they are old will enter the Fire."(Sahih Bukhari)Allah prolongs the life of someone who is dutifultowards his parents Mu'adh (RA) said, "Bliss belongs to someone who is dutifultowards his parents. Allah Almighty will prolong his life." (SahihBukhari)One should not ask forgiveness for his father if he isan idolater Ibn 'Abbas (RA) mentioned the words of the Almighty, "Whenone or both of them reach old age with you, do not say 'Ugh!' tothem out of irritation and do not be harsh with them but speakto them with gentleness and generosity. Take them under yourwing, out of mercy, with due humility and say: 'Lord, showmercy to them as they did in looking after me when I wassmall."
