1) Young Muslims - The Message

Father’s Day, Mother’s Day, Valentine’sDay, HalloweenThese are not part of Islamic cultures at all. Muslims must avoidobserving or participating in these occasions. For the Muslims,every day is a Father’s Day, every day is a Mother’s Day.Muslims are obligated by their religion (ISLAM) to take care andlove their parents every day of the year, not on one particularday only. Observing Father’s Day and Mother’s Day is now aritual only without touch of the heart of the children; takinggreeting cards or flowers or some food on these days does notreflect real honor and love for the parents, rather this practiceis painful for the parents.So is the case with Valentine’s Day and Halloween. These arenot Islamic too. As Muslims, having the Qur’an and the Ahadithbefore us for guiding our activities of life, we must not followand participate in activities of other cultures. Besides, Muslimsmust not go out to collect Halloween candies, nor should theyhandout such candies themselves. Such occasions are expensiveand wasteful. Allah dislikes a wasteful person. Know thatHalloween encourages loving and adoring ghosts, goblins,demons, etc. which is Haram for the Muslims.Christmas (25 th December) and New Year’sEve (31 st December night)These festivities are also un-Islamic and therefore should beavoided by the Muslims. Planting a Christmas tree inside aMuslim home, serving Christmas dinner, exchanging MerryChristmas cards and gifts with Christian friends and colleagueson these occasions are not sanctioned by Islam for the verysimple reason that participating or celebrating such un-Islamiccultures encourages Muslims to deviate from the teachings andYoung Muslims, What they should know about Islam Page - 194
