1.2.2 Reference should be made to other relevant legislation, including :(i)(ii)(iii)sections 6A <strong>and</strong> 6B <strong>of</strong> the FIUO;the Factories <strong>and</strong> Industrial Undertakings (Lifting Appliances <strong>and</strong>Lifting Gear) Regulations (hereinafter called LALGR);the Construction Sites (<strong>Safe</strong>ty) Regulations (hereinafter calledCSSR);(iv) Buildings Ordinance, Cap 123; <strong>and</strong>(v) Engineers Registration Ordinance, Cap. 409.1.2.3 Throughout this <strong>Code</strong>, relevant safety st<strong>and</strong>ards <strong>of</strong> the British St<strong>and</strong>ardsInstitution are usually quoted. However, if there are some otherinternational st<strong>and</strong>ards or provisions which are equal in st<strong>and</strong>ard as thosementioned, they would be acceptable as an alternative. In addition,statutory provisions referred to or cited in this <strong>Code</strong> are those in <strong>for</strong>ce asat 1st January 1999.1.2.4 This <strong>Code</strong> is not intended to cover the safety requirements <strong>of</strong> the followingchairs or plat<strong>for</strong>ms which are used <strong>for</strong> carrying persons:(i)(ii)(iii)sky chairs whose safety requirements are covered by LALGR;boatswain’s chairs whose safety requirements are covered by CSSR<strong>and</strong> LALGR; <strong>and</strong>a working plat<strong>for</strong>m suspended by a mobile crane or a tower crane<strong>for</strong> which the safety requirements are governed by LALGR <strong>and</strong> the<strong>Code</strong> <strong>of</strong> <strong>Practice</strong> <strong>for</strong> safe use <strong>of</strong> mobile cranes <strong>and</strong> tower cranes.4
