REPORT ON THE GLAGOLITIC FRAGMENTS 147Byzantine Italy to Byzantium and the Latin West in our list of mainareas from where cultural influences entered the Balkans between theninth and eleventh centuries. Such a vast topic can be only suggested, but not responsibly tackled in a first presentation of a mere two pagesof an early Glagolitic manuscript. May this presentation meet with theapproval of the Sinai authorities, and help expedite their plans toproceed with the full publication of the new finds, both Glagolitic andCyrillic, that were made in their monastery.Harvard UniversityAddendum to fn. 40: — J.
