Differences between the Online Courses and In-School Courses
• Flexibility in the School Schedule - Online courses allow for greater
flexibility by freeing up a period during the school day. Students do their
work when they are ready to focus on it.
• Potential to Work toward Mastery - Quizzes can be taken an unlimited
number of times (best score stays) and case studies can be resubmitted for
up to full credit.
• More One-to-One Interaction – The teachers are reading all of the
thoughts and ideas that are posted by students, they get to “know” these
students better.
• Develop Online Learning Skills - Online learning and professional
development is a rapidly expanding segment of education. Students
become self-direct learners with time management and technology skills

Let Newton coach you in your skateboard technique: take a chemist to the
supermarket! Scitech is a practical full year course which combines and applies
the major concepts of both chemistry and physics. It is intended for juniors/
seniors who would not normally take standard chemistry and/or physics. This
lab oriented course will cover the following topics: energy sources (nuclear, car
fuels, batteries), household chemicals, food additives, plastics (new composites),
pollution, environment, and the physics of sport.

ANATOMY AND PHYSIOLOGY 436 (Semester Course)

Prerequisites: Biology and Chemistry or by Recommendation of the Department
Anatomy and physiology are branches of biology which deal with the structure
and function of the human body. This is a laboratory oriented course which
places emphasis on how structure relates to function to maintain health and
equilibrium within the body. This course will prepare students interested in
pursuing careers in health fields such as medicine, nursing, physical therapy and
