The Chung-LiVHF radar was operated continuously during most of these events, such as in earlier times(Röttger et al., 1991). We will discuss the radar reflectivity structures of these three typhoons inthe companion paper by Pan et al. (this issue), which differ significantly between these typhoons.We often find periodically recurring convection episodes in the meso-beta scale, which reach upto the middle and partially upper troposphere.
