Subject Matterof ContributionsThe journal Locomotor System willpublish the papers from the field of locomotorapparatus of man which are aboveall concerned with the function, physiologicaland pathological state of the skeletaland muscular system on all levels ofknowledge, diagnostical methods, orthopaedicand traumatological problems, rehabilitationas well as the medical treatmentand preventive care of skeletal diseases.The object of interest are interdisciplinarypapers of paediatric orthopaedics andosteo logy, further object of interest areproblems of biomechanics, pathobiomechanicsand biorheology. The journal willaccept the original papers of high professionallevel which were not publishedelsewhere with exception of those whichappeared in an abbreviated form.The editorial board will also acceptthe review articles, case reports and abstractsof contributions presented at nationaland international meetings devotedlargely to locomotor system. The paperspublished in the journal are excerpted inEMBASE / Excerpta Medica.ManuscriptRequirementsManuscripts should be submitted inoriginal (we recommend to the authors tokeep one copy for eventual corrections),printed double-spaced on one side of thepage of size A4 with wide margins. Thecontributions (including Illustrations andTables) has to be submitted in the well-knowncomputer programs on disk.While no maximum length of contributionsis prescripted, the authors are encouragedto write concisely. The first pageof paper should be headed by the titlefollowed by the name(s) of author(s) andhis/her (their) affiliations. Furthermore,the address of the author should be indicatedwho is to receive correspondence andproofs for correction. Papers are reviewedby two (and/or three) opponents.The second page should contain a shortabstract about 100 words followed by thekey words no more than 6. The proper textof original paper is laid out into introduction,material and methods, results, discussionand if need be acknowledgement.The reviews, discussions and news fromconfe rences are without summaries andtheir lay-out depends on the character ofcommunication. The paragraphs shouldbegin five free spaces from the left marginand contain at least four rows.Illustrations andTablesAuthors should supply illustrations andtables on separate sheets but indicate thedesired location in the text. The figuresshould include the relevant details and beproduced on a laser printer or professionallydrawn in black ink on transparent orplain white paper. Drawings should be inthe final size required and lettering mustbe clear and sufficiently large to permit thenecessary reduction of size. Photographsmust be of high professional quality. Figurelegends should be provided for all illustrationson a separate page and grouped innumerical order of appearance.
