<strong>BROOKS</strong> <strong>FAMILY</strong> <strong>HISTORY</strong> 7-137ISAAC TURNER <strong>BROOKS</strong> (2.3.3) is the son of Isham Brooks and Lezina(Daniel) Brooks. Turner was born on October 15, 1818 in Putnam County,Georgia. On November 28, 1839, Turner Brooks married Mary Frances Wynnin Putnam County, Georgia. Mary was born on December 14, 1819 and is thedaughter of John Wynn and Mary (Brewer) Wynn. In 1850, Turner and MaryBrooks were living in Talbot County, Georgia. From 1860 to 1870, they wereliving in Muscogee County, Georgia. Turner and Mary Brooks were the parentsof eleven children:............Sarah Ann Eliza Jane Brooks (2.3.3.1), b. March 21, 1841, Talbot Co., Georgia............Joseph Henry Brooks (2.3.3.2), b. June 9, 1842, Talbot County, Georgia............John Isham Brooks (2.3.3.3), b. September 9, 1849, Georgia............Catherine Elexie Brooks (2.3.3.6), b. February, 1851, Georgia............Ella Duncan Brooks (2.3.3.7), b. October 25, 1853, Georgia............Anna (Frances) Brooks, b. 1857, Georgia............Ida Matilda Brooks (2.3.3.9), b. April 27, 1859, Columbus, Georgia............Isaac Cheney Brooks (2.3.3.10), b. April 27, 1859, Georgia............Name Unknown, b. 1865Turner Brooks served two years as a Tax Collector. In November of 1869, hewas elected Clerk of the Superior Court but later decided not to take the position.Turner Brooks died on October 27, 1893 and Mary (Wynn) Brooks diedon July 7, 1903 in Girard, Alabama. Both died at the home of their son, IsaacCheney Brooks, and both were buried in the Linwood Cemetery in Columbus,Georgia. Anna (Frances) Brooks died prior to 1869 in Columbus, Georgia. Anotherone of Turner’s children died at the age of five and was buried in theLinwood Cemetery on February 25, 1870.
