John Thomas Perkins served in Company B, First Regiment,27th Brigade of the Texas State Troops, organized on August 7, 1863 at WillowSprings, Bell County, Texas. John and Margaret Perkins lived in ShelbyCounty, Texas and later near Owensville in Robertson County, Texas. JohnPerkins died in Owensville, Texas and was buried there. After John’s death,Margaret (Streetman) Perkins married a second time to C. D.
