Brooks andEmily Judith (Clark) Brooks. Courtney was born on May 21, 1854 in Georgia.On September 3, 1880, Courtney Brooks married Sarah Jean Cook. Sallie wasborn on September 8, 1858 in Georgia and is the daughter of Robert Cook andLaviasia (Laudrum) Cook. Courtney and Sarah Brooks had no children. In1900, Courtney and Sallie Brooks were living in Covington, Newton County,Georgia. Courtney Brooks was in the drug trade, in which he was engaged atseveral places, for the most part at Covington, Georgia. Sallie (Cook) Brooksdied on August 23, 1913 and was buried in the Covington Cemetery. On September8, 1918, Courtney Brooks married a second time to Diva Lou (Dewberry)Braswell at Covington, Newton County, Georgia. Diva was a widow and hadtwo children by her previous marriage: Marvin Timothy “Tim” Braswell andLouie “Render” Braswell.
