Instruction Manual pH 1100/ 21004 mV CALIBRATION AND MEASUREMENT4.1 mV Calibration1. Turn the meter ON. If the meter is not in the mVmeasurement mode, press EXIT and use >/CAL to selectmV. The mode selected will flash. See Figure 37. PressENTER to confirm selection. The meter is now in absolutemV measurement mode. See Figure 38.2. Rinse the electrode in deionized water or rinse solution.Do not wipe the electrode dry. Wiping the probescauses static, and will create calibration andmeasurement instability.3. Select your standard and pour into a clean container.4. Dip the probe into the standard. The end of the probemust be completely immersed into the sample. Stir theprobe gently to create a homogeneous sample.5. Press >/CAL key to enter the mV calibration mode. Thedisplay will read Cal Mode Activated, Please wait... SeeFigure 39. The meter is now in mV calibration mode. Theupper display shows Abs. mV: and lower display showsKey in Std: See Figure 40.NOTE: In mV calibration, the value shown in the upperdisplay is the same as the lower display.6. Key in the mV value to match the standard value usingthe numeric keypad. If you make a mistake, use the Δ/MIor ∇/MR to highlight mistake, then re-enter.7. Press ENTER key to confirm the reading. The displayflashes mV Cal Completed, mV Offset: (shows the mVoffset value). See Figure 41. It then flashes SysUpdating... Please wait.... The meter returns to mVmeasurement mode. The upper display now reads Rel.mV. See Figure 42.NOTE: New mV calibrations will override existing the storedmV calibration data. The meter retains stored mV calibrationseven when the meter is turned off.To exit from mV calibration mode at any point withoutconfirming calibration, DO NOT press ENTER in step 7. PressEXIT.The upper display then flashes Error: Cal Aborted.See Figure 43.pH/ Temp mV I onSel ec t & Pr es s ENTERFigure 37Abs. mV : 226.9mVJan 20 2002 20:30:05Figure 38Ca l Mo d e Ac t i v a t e dPl ea s e wa i t . . .Figure 39Abs. mV : 226.9mVKey I n St d: 226 .9 mVFigure 40mV Ca l Co mp l e t e dmV Of f s e t : - 3 .7 mVFigure 41Rel. mV : 200.0mVJan 20 2002 20:34:45Er r or : Cal Abor t edFigure 42Figure 43Er r or :mV Of f set t oo lar geFigure 444.1.1 mV Calibration error messageIf the offset adjustment of your mV calibration is not within ±150.0 mV; the upper display will flash Error: and the lowerdisplay will read mV Offset too large.
