Cost: This project wouldtake approximately 100 staff hours to complete.» Along with COTA, Dublin, Upper Arlington and other suburbswhere many <strong>Hilliard</strong> residents commute to (based on informationobtained from the transit study), investigate the feasibility <strong>of</strong> alocal bus route between the two cities linking major employers,shopping areas, and other destinations. Parties responsible: <strong>Hilliard</strong>Engineering and <strong>Plan</strong>ning staff in coordination with COTA and othermunicipalities. Cost: Approximately 40-80 staff hours.Long Term (5-10 years)» During the next update <strong>of</strong> the Comprehensive <strong>Plan</strong>, theEngineering and <strong>Plan</strong>ning staff should provide a Transit<strong>Plan</strong> in addition to the Thoroughfare <strong>Plan</strong> which showslong term visions for where additional bus routes, Park andRide facilities, light-rail or inter-city rail stations should belocated (see Image 3.22 for an example <strong>of</strong> Dublin’s Transit<strong>Plan</strong>). Although there is no regional plan for additionaltransit options other than COTA, such as light rail or intercityrail, the <strong>City</strong> should be prepared for future alternatives.Additionally, if <strong>Hilliard</strong>’s Comprehensive <strong>Plan</strong> containsdetails about desired future routes, COTA will be able touse this information when they conduct their own longtermplanning and incorporate the <strong>City</strong>’s plan into theirown regional plan. Parties responsible: <strong>City</strong> Engineeringand <strong>Plan</strong>ning staff with the approval <strong>of</strong> <strong>City</strong> Council.
