The wholebuilding must be considered, and its significant fe<strong>at</strong>ures must be identified” (NPS1995:4). The 70 exceptionally significant historic properties identified <strong>at</strong> the 13 <strong>NASA</strong>Centers and component facilities include several large, multi-functional buildings whereadditions and modific<strong>at</strong>ions are common. For many of these, the building derives itsexceptional significance under Criterion A and/or C from specialized facilities and/orequipment loc<strong>at</strong>ed within only a portion of the overall building; the remaining areas ofthe building have no significant historical associ<strong>at</strong>ions.
