ExpensesBooks and SuppliesBooks and supplies are purchased on a semester basis.<strong>Student</strong>s should budget approximately $200 - $750 persemester depending on program <strong>of</strong> study. Textbooks andsupplies are available at the bookstore located on theDonaldson Campus at 1115 North Roberts Street. Tools arerequired by each student entering Automotive, AviationMaintenance, Carpentry and Construction, Machine Tool,Diesel, and Welding <strong>Technology</strong> programs. <strong>Student</strong>s shouldrefer to the tool section <strong>of</strong> the catalog.Deferred Fee Payment PlanA deferred fee payment plan is authorized providing that 1)at least one-third <strong>of</strong> total fees are paid at the time the deferredfee payment plan is initiated, 2) an additional one-thirdis paid within the first 30 days <strong>of</strong> the semester and 3) thefull amount is paid within 60 days <strong>of</strong> the beginning <strong>of</strong> thesemester. Tuition and mandatory fees less any financial aidare eligible for deferral. Execution <strong>of</strong> a promissory note withthe terms and conditions <strong>of</strong> the deferment will be required.This plan is not available for the summer semester or toany person with an outstanding debt to the <strong>College</strong>. TheDeferred Payment Agreement must be renewed in BusinessServices at the beginning <strong>of</strong> each semester.<strong>Student</strong>s participating in this plan will be assessed anadministrative charge <strong>of</strong> $30 each semester. Failure to makescheduled payments will result in a student being ineligiblefor future deferment and may result in cancellation <strong>of</strong> astudent’s enrollment with no refund <strong>of</strong> payments alreadycollected. A $15 fee will be assessed each time a scheduledpayment is late.Non-PaymentAny person who owes the <strong>College</strong> any fees, fines, or othercharges will not be permitted to receive a transcript, diploma,certificate, or academic record; to register or attend classes;or to access any <strong>College</strong> facilities or services until the debthas been paid or satisfactorily adjusted through BusinessServices. Interest may be charged at the rate <strong>of</strong> 10% on thebalance due from the day after the due date until the fullamount has been paid, and any attorney’s fees or other costsor charges necessary for the collection <strong>of</strong> the amount owedmay be added to the balance due.Payment <strong>of</strong> Tuition and FeesAfter registration, a schedule bill will be available throughthe student’s MY UMH web portal. <strong>Student</strong>s are encouragedto review the corresponding Registration Guide for eachsemester’s tuition and fee payment policies and deadlines.Dates and policies are subject to change each semester.<strong>Student</strong>s must finalize their payment by signing andreturning their bill or finalizing on My UMH by theappropriate date, even if their bill reflects a balance <strong>of</strong> zero orthey have an approved third party payment.If the bill indicates an amount due, a student must arrangefor payment on or before the payment due date. Paymentmay be made on-line at the MY UMH web site accessiblethrough the home page at www.umhelena.edu. The onlinesystem accepts VISA, MasterCard, and e-Checks. <strong>Student</strong>smust finalize their bill online if they are paying online.<strong>Student</strong>s may also pay by mailing a check or providing creditcard information (VISA, Discover, or MasterCard accepted),including the verification number from the signature line onthe back <strong>of</strong> the card. A signed bill must accompany paymentif students are mailing in their payment.<strong>Student</strong>s may also pay in person at the cashier in theDonaldson Building at 1115 North Roberts.
