Associate of Applied Science in Early Childhood EducationOffered in partnership with The University of Montana—WesternThe Associate of Applied Science degree in Early Childhood Education prepares early childhood practitioners to meet the uniqueneeds of children from birth through age eight and their families in a variety of early childhood settings including child carehomes and centers, Head Starts, pre-schools, etc. The program features a lab with each early childhood course, allowing ampleopportunity for learning by doing. Students also have many opportunities to interact with peers and professionals in the field.This degree is conferred by UM-Western, but all courses can be taken at UM-Helena. Courses designated as UM-Western aresubject to their policies as outlined in their catalog. General education courses are delivered through UM-Helena and are subjectto the policies found in this catalog.Early childhood courses rotate on a two-year schedule, so it is imperative for interested students to contact an advisor as soon aspossible.
