Sport development pathways are a key way to foster the community’s continuedengagement with sport. They can help retain a player’s interest and enjoyment insport, leading to continued participation. The provision of various levels ofcompetition in each sport allows participants to further develop their skills andcreates pathways.Council’s vision for Brimbank is that it will be ‘a diverse, active and connectedcommunity living in sustainable, well-designed, safe and accessible local areas withhigh participation in community life’. The Council Plan (2011-2015) reinforcesCouncil’s commitment to:…growing strong pride for residents and visitors by creating an urban environmentthat is attractive, clean and green and which improves living, business andrecreational opportunities, demonstrates environmental leadership and fosters asustainable community.Providing the community with access to inclusive, well developed sports facilitiesand pathways plays a key role in achieving this commitment.
