Strategy 1.2: Develop additional facilities at existingsports sites in <strong>Brimbank</strong>This approach focuses on developing new facilities at existing sites to cater forcurrent and future needs.Priority actionsThere are only a small number of selected existing sporting reserves that canspatially accommodate additional sporting facilities. These are (Refer to Figure 9 formap of identified sites):Keilor Basketball & Netball StadiumGreen Gully ReserveKeilor Lodge ReserveDelahey ReserveWhilst additional netball facilities at Kings Park Reserve have been proposed by theSt Albans <strong>Sports</strong> Club; further investigation into the suitability of the site isrequired. Funding for this facility is not proposed in this plan.The recommended projects include the development of new pavilions and playingsurfaces (refer to section 7 – facility development plan for a list of projects). Thestandards to which the new facilities should be developed are outlined in Section 7– <strong>Facility</strong> Standards.(NOTE: BON THOMAS RESERVE IN DEER PARK CURRENTLY PROVIDES FOR JUNIOR SPORT AND SOME SENIORCRICKET. IT HAS THE CAPACITY IN SIZE AND DIMENSIONS TO BE DEVELOPED FOR SENIOR SPORT, BUT ISUNSUITABLE FOR THIS USE BECAUSE OF ITS LOCATION IN A RESIDENTIAL AREA WITH VERY POOR ACCESS ANDTRAFFIC ISSUES.
