Sports Facility Development Plan (10 years) - Brimbank City Council

The suggested Regional Multi-sports Facility is staged over each funding bracket.The first step for this project is the design phase in 2012–2015, followed by threestages concurrently within each following bracket period. Funding fromCommonwealth and State Governments will be sought to allow reallocation of someof the funding to other projects lower on the list. However, it is considerednecessary for this essential facility to be fully costed and included in this Plan.Each year bracket is relatively the same in cost, other than the 10+ years bracket.As discussed throughout this Plan, Council will work to address the identified gapsin the provision of sporting facilities across the City in a range of ways. Theseinclude optimising the use of existing facilities, developing additional facilities atexisting sporting reserves in addition to developing new sports facilities andinvestigating opportunities to enter into partnership agreements with local schools,local organisations and neighbouring municipalities. It is recommended therefore,as part of this Plan that Council commit to specific sport and recreation CapitalWorks Program categories each year. These rolling programs will address otherareas of sports facility development linked to upgrading pavilions, grounds andfacilities.SPORTS FACILITY DEVELOPMENT PLAN69
