Immediate and development objectives of the projectThe Project addresses developmental challenges through the overall goal ofenhanced marine park management and inclusive sustainable islanddevelopment. The project has the following objectives, designed to addressthe root causes of the threats to the marine biodiversity in the <strong>Malaysia</strong>nmarine parks:• To widen the existing development planning process in order tosupport marine ecosystem management as well as sustainabletourism through stakeholder involvement.• To strengthen the capacity of the marine parks managementsystem in Peninsula <strong>Malaysia</strong> and to ensure effective enforcementof marine park regulations at three project sites.• To enable an influential advocacy framework for the conservationof marine biodiversity supported by a raised level of awareness ofthe importance and benefits of marine biodiversity.2.4.
