Accordingly during theevaluation over 20 stakeholder organisations and approximately 100individuals were interviewed, as well as 8 village groups.There is a large number of stakeholders and the systematic engagementoutlined above is appropriately varied and diverse. The project is beginningto show strengthening of institutional capacity and increasing awareness ofkey stakeholders e.g. some villages noted that in the past they ignored theMarine Park but now want the park to be more active in enforcement asobserved at Tioman Island, especially after the establishment of RakanPark. The project is active in community consultation and this hasstrengthened relationships between the island communities and the Marine16
