<strong>Apollo</strong> <strong>Software</strong> Overview<strong>Apollo</strong> has several software <strong>com</strong>ponents that <strong>com</strong>prise the <strong>com</strong>plete <strong>Apollo</strong> system. Abrief description of each <strong>com</strong>ponent is provided below, along with a link to <strong>com</strong>pletedetails about the <strong>com</strong>ponent.Note: <strong>Apollo</strong> and <strong>Apollo</strong> 16 use the same installer and software.Console ApplicationThe Console application is <strong>Apollo</strong>’s primary software interface. Its main function is tocontrol the hardware unit and its digital mixing and monitoring capabilities. The Consolemixer is where Realtime UAD processing using UAD Powered Plug-Ins is configured.Important Fundamental Concept: The primary function of Console is to control<strong>Apollo</strong>’s low-latency hardware input monitoring and Realtime UAD Processing, andConsole must be used to take advantage of these features. Console replaces thesoftware monitoring feature of the DAW mixer.For <strong>com</strong>plete details, see “Chapter 3: Console Application” beginning on page 21.Console Recall Plug-InConsole Recall is a DAW plug-in supplied in VST, RTAS, and Audio Units formats. ConsoleRecall offers additional convenience when using <strong>Apollo</strong> and/or the Console applicationin conjunction with a DAW. Its primary function is to store <strong>com</strong>plete Console configurationswithin the DAW project file.For <strong>com</strong>plete details, see “Chapter 4: Console Recall Plug-In” beginning on page 64.UAD Powered Plug-InsUAD Powered Plug-Ins are the plug-in files that are loaded within a host application foraudio processing on <strong>Apollo</strong>’s integrated UAD-2 DSP accelerator (Console and DAWs arehost applications). Each UAD plug-in contains a graphical user interface (GUI) and variouscontrol parameters that can be manipulated to achieve the desired sonic results.Typical UAD plug-in window<strong>Apollo</strong> includes numerous UAD Powered Plug-Ins in the Analog Classics bundle.
