Lead or other heat sensitive materials having amelting point of l,700°F, or less shall not be used in suchservice, or in a~ other application where the deterioration ofthe piping system in the event of fire would give rise to dangerof flooding. Brittle materials such as cast iron shall not beused in such service.Where non-metallic materials are used ina piping system, and shell closures are required by this section,a positive closure metallic valve is required (see also Para.S6.60-2S) .11In addition to cast aluminum alloys, other materials such as cast 25per cent nickel - 20 per cent chrome and AISI 304 or 316 stainless steelcould be considered for the sea valves.
