• Sessions and workshops on effective strategies for teaching science, math, and<br />

technology through Inquiry Series<br />

• Affiliated Programs (e.g., TEAMS, TeachOhio, PRISM, REAL, DREAMS)<br />

Goal #2: Recruit and retain students into STEM and STEM education disciplines.<br />

The Center addressed Goal 2 through the following initiatives/activities/<br />

programs/events:<br />

• Future Teacher Conference<br />

• TeachOhio alternative licensure program<br />

• OJSHS<br />

Goal #3: Conduct and communicate collaborative research on how people best teach and learn<br />

science and mathematics and/or on the barriers and enablers related to current reform<br />

efforts.<br />

The Center addressed Goal 3 through the following initiatives/activities/<br />

programs/events:<br />

• Research Community<br />

• Educational Statistics Seminar<br />

Goal #4: Develop and sustain a regional collaborative alliance including university, school, and<br />

community partners through a shared vision and collaborative spirit for tackling current<br />

STEM education issues.<br />

The Center addressed Goal 4 through the following initiatives/activities/<br />

programs/events:<br />

• COSMOS Collaborative Council (CCC)<br />

• NWO Executive Board<br />

Goal #5: Increase the leadership capacity for mathematics and science education in northwest<br />

Ohio.<br />

The Center addressed Goal 5 through the following initiatives/activities/<br />

programs/events:<br />

• Inquiry Series Symposium<br />

• Summit Presentations<br />
