Appendix O: RIPE Recruiting Brochure<br />
Are you an early childhood teacher who wants your students<br />
to better understand physical science? Do you want to gain<br />
a deeper understanding of the concepts and how to teach them?<br />
If so, the <strong>2007</strong> RIPE summer workshop is the place to be!<br />
Incentives:<br />
• Physical science curriculum materials for early childhood students aligned<br />
to state standards<br />
• Teacher content preparation with other K-3 professionals<br />
• Participants will receive 4 FREE graduate credit hours from<br />
<strong>Bowling</strong> <strong>Green</strong> <strong>State</strong> <strong>University</strong><br />
• Participants will receive a material resource kit of approximately $500 value<br />
Teacher Requirements:<br />
• Apply online at http://<strong>cosmos</strong>.bgsu.edu/ripe for the program<br />
• Modify, implement, and evaluate one physical science unit<br />
• Participate actively in all meetings and program evaluation<br />
Schedule:<br />
• 2 Week (8 day) Summer Institute, June 18th - June 28th (80 contact hours)<br />
• 4 meetings in the Fall Semester <strong>2007</strong> (15 contact hours)<br />
Equivalent to 4 Semester hours (3 after Summer Institute, 1 after Fall ’07)<br />
