It has special significance. Eventhough outwardly it means a sci<strong>on</strong> <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong>lineage <strong>of</strong> King Bharata, it also means apers<strong>on</strong> who is engaged in attainingknowledge (Bh¢y¢m ratah). ‘Bha’ means <strong>the</strong>light <strong>of</strong> knowledge and ‘ratah’ means fullydevoted to or engaged in it.The word ‘sarva bhavena’ indicates that<strong>the</strong> surrender should be unc<strong>on</strong>diti<strong>on</strong>al and<strong>the</strong>re should be no reservati<strong>on</strong>s. If anyc<strong>on</strong>diti<strong>on</strong> is attached to it <strong>the</strong>n <strong>the</strong>re is no‘surrender’ at all.This unc<strong>on</strong>diti<strong>on</strong>al surrender has beenelaborated in a sacred scripture known asArhabudhnya samhita.
