a knower <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> field (kshetrajna). In ourhouses, each <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> bulbs which giveslight c<strong>on</strong>sists <strong>of</strong> two units, namely <strong>the</strong>bulb and <strong>the</strong> electricity inside <strong>the</strong> bulb.Ultimately <strong>the</strong>re is no separate electricalenergy coming into <strong>the</strong> different bulbs. Itis <strong>the</strong> <strong>on</strong>e electricity which comes out <strong>of</strong><strong>the</strong> generator which goes into each bulb. Thus electricity in each bulb, irrespective<strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> wattage- zero watt, <strong>on</strong>e hundredwatt etc. is not a separate individual unitbut <strong>the</strong> same as <strong>the</strong> totality <strong>of</strong> electricalenergy pervading all <strong>the</strong> bulbs and is inc<strong>on</strong>tinuous c<strong>on</strong>tact with <strong>the</strong> generator. In<strong>the</strong> same way, <strong>the</strong> individual soul(Jivatma) in each body (bulb) is in realityan integral indivisible part <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> SupremeBeing (Brahman) which can be likened to<strong>the</strong> electricity from <strong>the</strong> generator. This iswhat is going to be explained in <strong>the</strong> nextverse that <strong>the</strong> individual soul (kshetrajna)is in reality <strong>the</strong> same as <strong>the</strong> universalSupreme Being (Supreme Brahman).<str<strong>on</strong>g>Gita</str<strong>on</strong>g> <str<strong>on</strong>g>Sarah</str<strong>on</strong>g> 9
