CONCLUSION AND FUTURE WORKSThe present work had its origins in two main facts, as follows: firstly, in the need for bilingualalphabetisation (Libras and Portuguese) of deaf children as the basis for their full human development andsocial inclusion; and secondly, in the complexity inherent to the learning of Portuguese by deaf childrenwhose mother tongue is Libras.In this light, we developed an environment with an emphasis on communication amongst the members ofthe target public, attractive enough to instigate children to work with it, so that, in the long run, they getinvolved with other activities of support to bilingual alphabetization to be incorporated into the environment.To be implemented, the environment must first be better detailed. We estimate that the translationmodules Portuguese – Libras and Libras – Portuguese will offer the most difficulty, seeing as they require alot of research in the area of image processing. Once the tool has been partially implemented, one can thenconduct experiments on its actual use, aiming at obtaining feedback from the target audience and henceproviding ongoing improvement to the environment.REFERENCESCampos, M.
