BLACK MALE ACHIEVEMENT IN MULTNOMAH COUNTYThe City of Portland was selected as oneof 11 cities to be part of a National Leagueof Cities project called the Black MaleAchievement Initiative (BMA), which aims toimprove outcomes for Black men and boys.BMA is designed to address four specificfocus areas: education, employment, familystability and criminal justice. 14Housed in the Office of Equity and HumanRights, within the mayor’s portfolio, BMArelies on hard data.
