There are no significant events occurring after the reporting date.
36. Explanatory Statement
Significant variations between estimates and actual results for income and expenses
as presented in the financial statement titled Summary of Consolidated Account
Appropriations and Income Estimates are shown below. Significant variations are
considered to be those greater than 10% or $1 million.

to deliver services

The major variations in funding were:
Additional funding:
• Section 25 transfer from the Public Transport
Authority for multi modal planning activity
including development work associated with
public transport planning.
• To address cost pressures and revenue
shortfalls.
• Increased infringement process for Enhanced
Speed Enforcement.
Reduction in funding for:
• Section 25 appropriation for Corporate
Services to the Department of Planning from
the Department of Transport.
• Deferral of appropriation to 2011-12

The Salaries and Allowance Tribunal made a determination in respect of the position
of Director General, Department of Transport and the new second tier positions
of Managing Director, Transport Services and Deputy Director General. The net
movement in amounts is a result of the determination of 22nd October 2010.
