14.3 HIV PREVALENCE BY OTHER CHARACTERISTICS RELATED TO HIV RISKTable 14.8 presents the variation in HIV prevalence with a number of other characteristics relatedto HIV risk among men and women age 15 years and older who ever had sex. As expected, women andmen with a history of a sexually transmitted infection (STI) or STI symptoms have higher rates of HIVinfection than those with none.
