The design aim of the garden was not to try to equal a landscape whose stunning views to the Mont Ventoux
were dominant to the gardens setting but to connect the garden to this setting and use the correct materials
and plants which achieved this fusion
A garden was definitely needed that wasn’t overwhelmed by such grand surroundings, Most of all he wanted
to translate the elements and colours of the landscape into the garden like a painting making it feel like a
seamless fusion that had always been there.
The design of the Garden
The garden was divided into two main areas the Jardin de Cure to represent an old priests garden, as a
courtyard to the front of the house, a pool and lavender garden to the east of house.
